RPR Releases Version 1.65

On October 17, 2017, RPR released version 1.65, marking the 65th product release since the launch of the Residential Platform in September 2010. In this release, keyword search has been enhanced to include public records. Keyword search is an essential field for identifying properties using information including zoning, pools, legal subdivision name and land-use types (property subtypes). Also Commercial Practitioners will appreciate the new tenant data for commercial properties, delivering more than seven million tenant facts nationwide and in RPR Commercial you can now search by property tax ID.

RPR Mobile also saw a variety of enhancements including a Voice-to-Text search option for dictating a property address or area of interest. This new feature can be found by pressing the microphone icon in the search field. Also new to the app you can view area schools based on the attendance zone data RPR obtains from Maponics.

Solid Earth Expands Partnership with RPR’s Advanced Multi-List Platform With Multiple MLS Partners

Solid Earth, Inc. announced on October 19, 2017, that it will expand its partnership with RPR to include its Spring-on-AMP application for markets utilizing RPR’s Advanced Multi-List Platform (AMP). Solid Earth’s customer, the 300-member Franklin & Gulf County MLS (FL), has opted-in, as well as the 4,000-member Birmingham Association of REALTORS®, the largest real estate organization in Alabama.

RPR’s AMP system will allow Solid Earth to swap the property resource from the Spring API to the AMP API without disrupting the user experience. Solid Earth customers who choose Spring-on-AMP will get to combine all the features of Spring with all of the MLS backend features, public records and MLS data from RPR.

Matt Fowler, CEO of Solid Earth, says “Both markets have used the Spring service as a Consumer Portal since 2014. After years of development, Spring has grown to be an extraordinary marketing platform, purpose-built for real estate.”

“Greater Alabama has a proven track record of driving traffic to members in our market and we were one of the first in the country to adopt an API-powered system,” said Greater Birmingham Association of REALTORS® CEO Cliff Long. “Three years ago Birmingham was nominated for an Inman award for holding a hackathon, because we were, and are, acting as a catalyst for innovation. This new agreement with RPR’s AMP system, and with Solid Earth, is an extension of that work, and a demonstration of our confidence in the strategy and in our partners.”

RPR User Satisfaction Survey Recap

In September RPR conducted a Customer Satisfaction and Usage Survey. RPR’s goal was to learn more about its users and to gain feedback on how RPR can both continually improve its best-in-class real estate database; and to enhance its products, features and datasets to better ensure REALTORS® remain essential to consumers.

RPR received over 5,000 responses to the survey. Overall, the platform scored high marks on all measurable outcomes, with satisfaction levels ranging from 82% to 97% in the following categories: Awareness & Value, Overall Satisfaction, Applicability, Customer Care, and Learning Opportunities. Here are some of the survey’s key takeaways:

  • 97% of survey respondents are aware that RPR is a member benefit of NAR.
  • The $24 allocated to fund RPR as part of a member’s annual NAR dues is well worth it (82% say the $24 is a “good to great” value).
  • 82% report a “good to excellent” experience when using the platform.
  • More than 90% of respondents said they are “likely” or “somewhat likely” to recommend RPR to a colleague.
  • RPR’s Customer Care Center scored a 90% satisfaction rate of providing “good to excellent” service.
  • More than 90% of REALTORS® surveyed claim that RPR is “equal to” or “better than” other tools they use regularly.
  • 85% of those rated RPR training sessions as “good to excellent.”

One additional set of metrics showed the following “transactional” breakdown of RPR users:

  • 32% reported an average of 10-20 transactions/year
  • 28% reported more than 20+ transactions/year
  • Overall, more than 60% of users who responded had over 10 transactions/year

2017 NAR Annual REALTORS® Conference & Expo Preview

RPR is proud to join NAR in welcoming REALTORS® from around the country to Chicago for the Annual REALTORS® Conference & Expo later this week. As with previous years, there will be a variety of opportunities to learn about RPR initiatives at various committee and forum presentations. One exciting addition will be the newly-designed NAR Booth. The NAR booth, which includes RPR (#2825) will feature a new open design, RPR will now have two “pods” offering a great chance for RPR staff to assist REALTORS® with a variety of updated features and tools. One pod will be dedicated to the Residential and Commercial Platform, while the second will showcase the AMP™ project. Also look to the NAR Booth Theater for a session on tips for getting the most out of RPR Mobile™.

RPR will host two user forums highlighting practical benefits and use cases for Agents and Brokers. The Agent session will be held Friday, Nov. 3, at 11:00 AM, followed by the Broker session on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 11:00 AM.

Lastly, RPR AMP will host a number of invitation-only sessions for MLSs and leadership. Joining RPR will be four leading technology companies (Solid Earth, Stratus, W&R Studios, MyPropertyOffice and Robotiks Software) who will demonstrate their progress on dynamic front-ends of choice products, and answer questions about the AMP project.

REALTOR® Spotlight

This month’s REALTOR® spotlight comes from Reynoldsburg, Ohio, where RPR was introduced to Andrew Balalovski, the broker and owner of Balalovski Real Estate.

Andrew uses the RPR app to access the data he needs regularly. He says, “The RPR app displays all of the data you need to tell a property’s story. You can even press a button to call the listing agent, check out the neighborhood’s property values, see historical data, taxes, photos, and so much more.”

Andrew recalled a recent situation where he used the RPR mobile app to help negotiate a deal with a gas station owner. Andrew says, “We came in at $700,000, yet the seller claimed he needed more.” His basis? The station’s owner said his existing mortgage was more than the offer.
