CEO Update – August 2016

August 2016 RPR Product Release

RPR released version 1.53 of the RPR Platform on August 30, 2016, marking the 54th product release since its launch in September 2010. In this release, the Refine Value tool has been enhanced. Now Realtors® can calculate the value of “Needed Improvements” to explain the necessary repairs to the potential client and show the monetary effect, or the Return on Investment (ROI) to the property’s value. Also a new feature is when the subject property has not been listed for two or more years, or does not include a photo, RPR will provide a Google Street View image for the report cover page when available. Additionally over 21,000,000 distressed properties records have been added to the database.

RPR Mobile™: Now with Commercial Data and Reporting

RPR is introducing an enhancement that brings Commercial data and reporting to RPR Mobile™. The new Commercial mode is easily activated from within the app, and similar to the RPR Commercial website, it includes a red theme. Once logged-in, REALTORS® can swipe through three home screens: property search, market activity around the REALTORS® location, and area demographics.

Searching properties in commercial mode will return active (for sale or lease), sold or leased, off market, and distressed properties within a specific area. Then when it is time to create a client-friendly report, choose from a Commercial Property, Trade Area and/or Best Businesses Report. Each can be downloaded or emailed immediately.

RPR Becomes the CMA of Choice for Texas Brokerage

Recently Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene in Texas worked with RPR to build a customized training program to assist them in integrating RPR’s robust valuation, market analysis and reporting features as the primary “CMA” for their 1000 agents.

“RPR offers layers of data all in one place, with greater flexibility and automation like we’ve never seen before. We can’t get that anywhere else,” said Toni Nelson, director of strategic initiatives, BHGRE Gary Greene, whose brokerage operates 24 offices across the region. Currently, BHGRE Gary Greene has an RPR usage rate of 65 percent and growing.

BHGRE Gary Greene Regional Manager Terri McGowan says that Gary Greene is smart enough to know when not to reinvent the wheel. “RPR constantly updates its platform,” said Terri. “We could never match what RPR offers in terms of gathering data on a national level. By relying on RPR, we get to put our energies into areas where we do best—supporting our 1,000 agents and selling real estate.”

RPR Integrations Highlights

In August, a RISMedia article highlighted a number of recent RPR technology integrations and top tier real estate technology companies.

“A couple weeks ago, Realtors Property Resource® (RPR®) announced its brand new partnership with SentriLock to offer on-the-spot RPR property data to REALTORS® through their SentriSmart™ lockbox smartphone app. And if that’s not cool enough, with this most recent partner addition, there are now three real estate software platforms that offer RPR integration (in case you’re wondering, the other two are zipLogix™ and DocuSign). So, with RPR now so ubiquitously woven into your daily workflow—you simply can’t ignore it . . .”

These recent integrations with industry technology partners are a natural extension of the RPR Platform, connecting the industry’s premier parcel-centric database within the business tools which REALTORS® utilize everyday. What we hear consistently from agents and brokers is they expect their go-to business applications to work seamlessly. Furthermore, there is an even greater expectation that REALTOR® owned resources work together to provide the best member benefit possible for NAR’s 1.2 million members.

We have compiled the following summaries and links as a quick guide to how these integrations can benefit agents and brokers. Here is how to learn more:

MyRPR Realtor® Spotlight

Michele Miller, a REALTOR® with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene, recently shared how she used the RPR comps analysis to turn lemons into lemonade. On her first attempt at obtaining a luxury listing in a very desirable neighborhood, Michele missed the mark with her recommended price. Michelle said “I was off on my suggested list price. I did not calculate the value of the home’s improvements or the community and its amenities well enough to do it justice.” Not one to lose easily, Michele watched the property for a while and when the listing never came on the market, she decided to take a second chance, this time incorporating the RPR valuation tools. “What I like about RPR’s comparative analysis tool is that I get to pick comps and then tweak the value of each against my subject property,” she said. “It’s a unique feature I don’t get anywhere else.”
