Hope you all had a happy and healthy holiday season. We are just a few weeks into the New Year and RPR programs are already making progress. Here are some highlights for you to be aware of and add to your business and educational planning for 2012

RPR/NAR BPOR Classes

NAR’s BPOR Certification classes are scheduled around the country in Q1 2012 at the rate of about one class per day. Once the class has been completed and your application has been submitted, you will be placed on a panel to receive BPO orders for your local market. The average amount of orders for students at the end of 2011 was over 17 orders per month. To learn more about this new certification program go to, http://www.bpor.org or to check the amount of available BPO orders for your area, go to: http://bpor.org/benefits. If you’re ready to enroll in the online class, go here.

NAR Continuing Education Classes

NAR has partnered with The CE Shop and Learning Library to submit a three hour course (3 credits) to states across the country for approval. The course is titled, “RPR™: Real-Time Data, Market Knowledge, Informed Consumers” and focuses primarily on understanding automated valuations and how RPR tools and features can enhance knowledge and productivity at market level. Currently, NAR has received approval from Colorado, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Texas, Utah, and Washington. We expect to receive approval from additional states in the coming weeks. For more information, visit: rpr.me/cecredit.

RPR Training and Support

RPR’s commitment to member support is our top priority in 2012, and we have just added some tremendous resources to help us attain that goal. We are proud to announce the addition of Karen France to the RPR Team as Vice President of Programs and Events. Karen has an impressive resume with the REALTOR® family. Most recently with REBR, Karen provided strategic planning guidance and leadership for REALTORS® in the areas of brokerage profitability, MLS utilization, customer relationship management, technology applications and assisting brokers and agents in understanding the trends and opportunities that are present in today’s changing real estate industry. Karen’s role with RPR will be focused on creating partnerships with local and state associations in order to deliver and support the RPR value proposition to REALTORS® across the country. For more information, visit this blog post.

At RPR we have some exciting news to share; Karen France has joined our team as Vice President of Programs and Events. Karen comes to RPR after a successful tenure as the President and CEO of Real Estate Business Resources (REBR), a business support subsidiary of the Kansas Association of REALTORS® (KAR).

“Karen is an outstanding, intelligent and charismatic individual who is determined to succeed at anything she attempts. During her 11-year tenure at Real Estate Business Resources, she led a “start-up” company into a profitable and relevant business, serving the needs of real estate brokers and agents throughout Kansas and North America. We are very proud of all her accomplishments and heartily congratulate Karen on her new position with RPR. Her leadership talent will be missed at Real Estate Business Resources (REBR), however, we are proud to see that Karen will continue to serve all REALTORS® on an even larger platform at RPR,” said Sandy Green, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Real Estate Business Resources, Inc.

Karen’s new role with RPR will be focused building partnerships with local and state Associations and MLSs to expand training and communication programs designed to support RPR to NAR’s one million members across the country.

Prior to her employment with REBR, Karen served as Director of Governmental Relations for 17 years for KAR where she worked as the lobbyist for the association on legislative and regulatory matters.

RPR CEO Dale Ross, stated, “RPR is excited to add Karen’s extensive knowledge and background with Association training and leadership to its growing member support programs. RPR is committed to provide an increasing level of opportunity to its users in order to improve their efficiency and productivity with their clients and customers.”

RPR releases v1.10

Just prior to the NAR Annual Convention in Anaheim, RPR released version 1.10. New functions include a steam-lined new user account sign-up wizard, enhanced and updated census and demographic information in the RPR Neighborhoods tab, and a new investment analysis tool on every property. We also addressed over fifty internal system enhancements suggested by users though our customer supports systems.

For a video overview of all the new features go here.

Appraiser Tool Sets begin development

In our ongoing effort to build Tool Sets for each of the RPR REALTOR® constituents, RPR formed a work group comprised of REALTOR® volunteers selected by the leadership of the NAR Appraisal Committee earlier this year.

This dedicated group has been providing the RPR Development Team with suggestions and feedback on high value tools for NAR members working in the Appraisal industry. The RPR Appraiser Tool Sets will offer advanced search features, expanded comps selection and data exporting, and auto-population for UAD required forms which will benefit REALTOR® Appraisers. Look for RPR Appraiser Tool Sets in 2012, and for more information, and a demonstration of the system goes to the new Appraiser section of the RPR blog.

NAR Convention and Expo/RPR highlights

We want to thank everyone who came to see us at the RPR Booth, meetings or at either of the two RPR User Forums at the NAR Convention and Expo in Anaheim. We had a great turn-out and tremendous success stories of how agents and brokers across the country are benefitting from RPR. We’ve collected some photos of our time there working with members across the country, including a number of opportunities to create a MyRPR video to post on MyRPR.com. We invite you to preview some of our photos from a very successful 2011 NAR Convention. Thanks again for all of your support.

(Morris Plains, N.J.) – Weichert, Realtors®, a family of full-service real estate and financial services companies and one of the nation’s leading providers of homeownership services, and Realtors Property Resource™ (RPR), a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Association of REALTORS®, have agreed to make RPR’s national database of property information available to Weichert Sales Associates. In addition, Weichert will leverage RPR’s newest Broker Tool Sets product release.

Weichert branding was integrated within the RPR Broker Tool Sets in conjunction with the recent RPR application launch to the more than 42,000 REALTOR members of the Metropolitan Regional Information System (MRIS) in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and parts of Pennsylvania, Delaware and West Virginia. In addition to the 56 Weichert sales offices in the MRIS market area, 49 other Weichert offices can access the RPR database in New Jersey and New York State, with an additional 88 Weichert offices pending launch in surrounding areas.

Weichert’s decision to adopt the Broker Tool Sets enhances its access to RPR’s robust national, parcel-centric database by allowing its Sales Associates to also leverage four distinct Broker Products: Company Branding, Affiliated Service Support, the RPR Chart Service and the RPR Data Tool.

“We are pleased to be able to offer our Sales Associates the additional resources that RPR provides,” said Jace Botti, head of residential sales for Weichert, Realtors. “There is no doubt that in today’s information age, there is a benefit to being able to quickly and easily provide homebuyers and sellers with the most up-to-date and accurate information available.”

RPR’s Broker Tool Sets are designed to help real estate firms leverage the large database of property information which RPR has compiled, including assessor and recorder data, multiple listing data, mortgages, foreclosures and pre-foreclosures, demographics, and geographic information. In addition, RPR will provide brokers with new ways to help promote their brand identity, consistency, and service delivery, and integrate their core services into the RPR product for sales associates which is delivered through each multiple listing service within their local REALTOR® Association.

Another enhanced feature within the RPR Broker Tools Set will be the ability to provide market trending tools that will assist with future business strategies and planning initiatives for brokers, owners, and managers.

RPR CEO Dale L. Ross stated, “RPR was created to offer Brokers and agents across the country the opportunity to be more productive by offering a one-stop source for valuable nationwide data on every property in the country. This no charge REALTOR®-only benefit saves time and money and will help to create more opportunities and value for sales agents with their consumers. It’s gratifying to see a company of Weichert, Realty’s stature in the real estate industry affirm that value and offer it to their Brokers, managers and sales agents.”
