Position Title:  Director, Commercial Services
Reports to:  Senior Vice President, Operations

Position Requirements:

Experience in an operational role with a Commercial real estate brokerage or franchise, Commercial MLS, CIE or Overlay Board is required.  Knowledge and experience with commercial real estate and commercial transactions is preferred.  Candidate must have technical aptitude, and be able to create functional specifications to interpret needs and wants for brokerage and commercial tools, applications, and reports into requirements for developers.  Candidate must have experience and be effective communicating with senior managers, and be an effective in both writing and in small and large group presentation environments.  Experience working with National Association of REALTORS®’ committees and/or task forces is preferred.

RPR is a start up organization, and a “can do” and enthusiastic attitude is required for success in this fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.  Candidate may work from home office, and appropriate workspace for conducting and monitoring communications and account management is important.  Candidate will be a self-starter, and show success in working with a minimum of day to day supervision.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and creation of outreach strategies to Commercial entities such as Commercial MLSs, Commercial Information Exchanges (CIEs) and Commercial Overlay Boards in order to deliver the value proposition of the RPR Commercial Application and strategies.
  • Assist and design strategies for Commercial Beta testing of the RPR Commercial Application, including communication related to the RPR Commercial Data License Agreement, pre-beta marketing and communication with the partnering Commercial entity and their selected Beta users, on-site training, and gathering of feedback in tandem with the RPR Product Team.
  • Assist and design post-Beta launch strategies for partnering Commercial entities, as well as national Commercial Application launch to all NAR self-identified primary Commercial REALTORS®.
  • Create and maintain relationships with the Commercial real estate brokerage and franchise community, the commercial brokerage community, and other Commercial groups within the NAR organization, including related Commercial Affiliates, Societies and Councils.
  • Manage a process of gathering input from these groups for enhancements to the RPR Commercial application, with an objective of building and delivering specific tools, reports, and functionality that will address the specific requirements of the REALTOR® interests of the Commercial industry.
  • Work closely with RPR Product Team to create specifications for new functionality based on need and wants gleaned from interviews and meetings with the Commercial industry.
  • Assist RPR Industry Relations and Broker Services by leveraging relationships in local markets to secure MLS/CIE content.
  • Assist in the management task forces and user groups who will provide input, direction and policy recommendations for the advancement and adoption of the RPR Commercial Application.
  • Participate in the development of training and communications materials targeted to the REALTOR® interests of the Commercial industry.
  • Promote the features and benefits of the RPR Commercial Application at industry events, broker’s meetings and conferences by attending, and serving as panelist or speaker as often as possible.

Realtors Property Resource (RPR) recently announced that a major milestone has been reached with over 600,000 of the nation’s REALTORS® are already part of the RPR program.  Close to 500,000 of those are launched, and the rest are soon to follow.  To be sure that this valuable member benefit is realized, RPR’s Industry Relations team is recruiting two new Market Managers, who will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships in assigned markets, working closely with local and state association and MLS staff to improve communication and develop and deliver programs to improve adoption of the RPR system.

Both of these positions are field based, and the candidates must be able to travel approximately 50% of their time. Experience in a sales, account management or leadership role with a real-estate service provider such as an Association/MLS or technology product company is required, knowledge and experience with residential real estate is preferred.  Close proximity to a major airport is required. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, strong customer service, account management and training experience and skills.  Outstanding communication and presentation skills are essential.  The successful candidate will be comfortable reaching out to people they haven’t met, and able to communicate the benefits and value proposition of the RPR system in terms that the listener can relate to. He/She must be able to plan and execute unique market strategies to drive territory and overall company objectives. A complete and total raving enthusiasm for RPR is also required, along with the ability and willingness to effectively communicate that enthusiasm to agents, brokers, MLS/Association leaders and executives.  A strong understanding of the real estate industry and technical savvy are also important.  Candidate must be organized, self-motivated, and able to effectively and efficiently use technology tools for internal communications and reporting, as well as in performance of their account management duties.

Base salary and bonus compensation based on performance are commensurate with experience.  Excellent benefits, including a great team working environment.
