5 things you may have missed at NAR Annual

Billed as “The Sky’s the Limit,” this year’s REALTORS® Conference & Expo, Nov. 3-6 in Chicago, exceeded RPR expectations in every way, thanks to tens of thousands of REALTORS® and countless others involved in the real estate profession.

RPR’s presence at the much-anticipated annual gathering blanketed every corner of McCormick Place, from one-on-one interactions in casual spaces, to formal presentations for up to 1,000 highly engaged spectators, to hands-on demonstrations at the newly designed booth. RPR, like its property-centric database, was everywhere.

“We’re tempted to talk about favorable takeaways for RPR but our goal for attending was to reach out to the folks who matter most: REALTORS®,” said RPR Vice President of Marketing Reggie Nicolay. “We enjoyed hearing how agents use the Platform, what they need from us now and in the future, and how we can help them take advantage of every RPR feature and tool to build their respective businesses.”

The bottom line? According to the hundreds of REALTORS® we spoke to, RPR is a market force, not a sideline benefit relegated to random use, but an impactful, essential and innovative tool for the exclusive purpose of building up real estate professionals.

“Our members expressed a great deal of satisfaction with the product we are delivering,” said RPR CEO Dale Ross. “They told us the system works, that it delivers a high value product they can’t find elsewhere, and that they want us to continue doing what we’re doing.”

RPR’s Commercial team, led by Emily Line and Nathan Graham, garnered a lot of attention at this year’s conference. Several of the duo’s sessions led national and global industry leaders and investors, as well as government officials and major brokerages, through the many facets of data available through RPR, notably trend-supporting facts and figures that help organizations and community planners determine site selection and embrace smart growth initiatives. The team also discussed national trends affecting local opportunities in addition to its recent national media exposure in helping cities attract Amazon to their primary and tertiary markets.

Impressing Clients and Closing Deals Anytime, Anywhere with RPR, presented by Reggie Nicolay and innovative REALTOR® Nicole Nicolay, drew a big crowd as well. The husband-wife team energized the room by sharing five real-world scenarios of how Nicole uses the platform in her everyday business life, coupled with visuals that showed agents how to easily replicate Nicole’s strategies.

“This annual event is a reminder of the value agents get from RPR on a daily basis and how eager they are to do more with the platform,” said Reggie. “They thrive on practical applications for winning listing presentations or conducting open houses using RPR. Real takeaways that they can put into action immediately.”

Ray Gronowski and Tom Holobowski of the RPR Broker team led a packed session of Brokers on Using RPR to Create Business Value for Your Brokerage. The two shared RPR updates for the Brokers, while also providing a greater understanding of how they can use the Platform to their advantage.

Two RPR innovations expected to revolutionize the real estate industry in coming months also captured increased attention at the conference.

Advanced Multi-List Platform™ (AMP™) –– a multi-faceted, multi-purpose technology system that expands the type, quantity, and quality of tools and applications offered by both large and small MLSs to their subscribers –– held numerous presentations to MLS executives and volunteer leaders interested in learning more about this new MLS architecture. The intimate, interactive sessions also offered MLS leaders a chance to talk to existing and potential AMP developers about their market roadmaps and to hear their enthusiasm about working with RPR’s product teams.

“MLS leaders who attended the AMP open houses were treated to a preview of the new ‘front-ends-of-choice’ that will be made possible by AMP,” said Vice President of Business Development Bob Bemis. “Many expressed excitement about the possibility of expanding their current systems or replacing them entirely, and said they look forward to results of the pilot testing scheduled for Q1-2018.”

The always popular Technology and Emerging Issues Forum was standing room only as the audience watched Vice President of Product Management Janine Sieja conduct a live demonstration of Upstream. As a mechanism for brokerage data entry, management, storage, and distribution, Upstream allows brokerages of all sizes to manage their data assets through a simple, streamlined platform.

“Overall, the 2017 Annual Conference and Expo was truly one of the most successful for RPR,” said RPR Chief of Operations Jeff Young. “Throughout the many sessions and meetings, RPR users shared their excitement, support, and a continued desire to utilize RPR tools, features, and products in their businesses.”
