2024 MARKET MADNESS CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES

  1. NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS CONTEST. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW. The 2024 Market Madness Contest (the “Contest”) is open only to members of the National Association of REALTORS® who are legal U.S. residents 18 years of age or older at the time of entry (an “Eligible Entrant”). CONTEST NOT OPEN TO STAFF OF REALTORS PROPERTY RESOURCE® (“RPR”), THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (“NAR”) AND ITS SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES AND INSTITUTES, AS WELL AS IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS AND HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS OF SUCH STAFF. The Contest starts on or about 8am CT on March 18, 2024, and ends on or about 8:00pm CT on April 8, 2024 (“Contest Period”).
  2. OFFICIAL RULES: The rules, terms, and conditions specified herein for the Contest comprise its Official Rules and will govern all participation in the Contest. By your participation, you agree that these Official Rules will govern all matters relating to the Contest and which cannot be modified or superseded except by RPR, in its reasonable discretion, in a written revision to these Official Rules, which will be posted to https://blog.narrpr.com/rules.
  3. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Entrants are responsible for compliance with their employer’s policies and all applicable laws, rules, and regulations (“Laws”) regarding eligibility to participate in this Contest. RPR disclaims any and all liability for disputes related to this matter.
  4. PRIZES:
    • First Prize: 1 winner will receive a $500 gift card + choice of RPR swag (t-shirt or water bottle).
    • Second Prize: 5 winners will each receive a $50 gift card + choice of RPR swag (t-shirt or water bottle).
    • Third Prize: 10 winners will each receive a choice of RPR swag (t-shirt or water bottle).
  1. HOW TO ENTER: To participate in the Market Madness Contest, entrants are required to follow these steps:
  • Monitor RPR’s Social Media Accounts: Look for posts related to the Market Madness Contest on RPR’s social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) on designated dates that align with the March Madness tournament rounds.
  • Post a Comment: In the comments section of the designated contest social media posts, submit the “Required Information,” which includes:
    • Team Pick: The name of the team you predict will advance from the upcoming games.
    • Market Trend Data Point: A specific market trend statistic relevant to the chosen team’s home court zip code. The exact data point required will be specified in each contest post.
  • March Madness tournament rounds:
    • First Round – Selection Sunday
      • Post Date: March 17th
      • Games: March 19th – March 22nd
      • Required Data Point: Median Sold Price
    • Second Round
      • Post Date: March 22nd
      • Required Data Point: Months of Inventory
    • Third Round – Sweet Sixteen
      • Post Date: March 24th
      • Required Data Point: List to Sold Price Percentage
    • Fourth Round – Elite 8
      • Post Date: March 29th
      • Required Data Point: Median Days in RPR
    • Fifth Round – Final 4
      • Post Date: April 1st
      • Game Date: April 6th
      • Required Data Point: Month over Month Change % of Months of Inventory
    • Final Round – Championship Game
      • Post Date: April 7th
      • Game Date: April 8th
      • Required Data Point: Number of Active Listings

        Each correct prediction of the team pick and the accurate market trend data point in a comment counts as one entry in the contest. Entrants may enter once per round, with a new opportunity to enter in subsequent rounds, regardless of the previous round’s outcomes.

  1. ALTERNATIVE METHOD OF ENTRY: If you prefer not to participate via social media, you can enter the contest by submitting your details through this form.
  2. ENTRY SUBMISSION RULES:
    • Limit one (1) entry per Entrant per round. Submissions beyond this limit will be void.
    • Entries must include all required information to be deemed valid. This information will be outlined in each social media post per round.
    • Incomplete, illegible, or fraudulent entries will be disqualified.
    • All entries are subject to verification by RPR.
  1. DETERMINING AND NOTIFYING WINNERS: Winners will be selected through a random drawing from all eligible entries received. Each point earned during the contest represents one entry in the drawing. The drawing will be conducted by RPR, whose decisions regarding the random drawing will be final and binding in all matters related to the Contest.

    Winners will be announced on April 9th and contacted by RPR to claim their prizes. If a selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim a prize, or fails to return any forms, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected.

  2. GENERAL CONDITIONS: Participation constitutes Entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and to RPR’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. The Contest is subject to all federal, state, and local laws.
  3. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: By entering, Entrants agree to release and hold harmless RPR, NAR, and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, advertising/promotion agencies, and prize suppliers, and each of their respective parent companies and each such company’s officers, directors, employees, and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize.
  4. GOVERNING LAW: The Contest is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois without regard to conflict of law doctrines. As a condition of participating in this Contest, participant agrees that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in Cook County, Illinois.
  5. CANCELLATION OF PROMOTION: If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including, without limitation, due to tampering, unauthorized intervention, or fraud beyond the control of RPR, which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, RPR reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. Persons found tampering with or abusing any aspect of this Contest, as solely determined by RPR in its discretion, will be disqualified from the Contest. Any attempt to damage RPR’s or its parent corporation NAR’s websites, or tamper with or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest, is a violation of these Official Rules.
  6. PERSONAL DATA: Any personal data collected by RPR from Entrants will be collected in accordance with NAR’s privacy policy available on nar.realtor (“Privacy Policy”). By participating in the Contest, Entrants agree to RPR’s collection and use of the personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted the Privacy Policy.
  7. REALTOR® TRADEMARKS: REALTOR® and REALTORS® are federally registered collective membership marks owned by NAR which identify real estate professionals who are members of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and subscribe to its strict Code of Ethics.
