New MLS data sharing feature for REALTORS®

In today’s real estate industry, the sum total of data available to every REALTOR® translates to his/her degree of influence when working with buyers and sellers. Informed agents are empowered to present all options, moving closer and more quickly to the closing table.

RPR View––the nation’s largest listing data share initiative offered through an agent’s MLS subscription to Realtors Property Resource® (RPR®)––offers agents access to listings from MLSs outside their coverage area, including on- and off-market properties.

Technically speaking, RPR View is a set of display permissions that allow partner MLSs to make listings viewable by REALTORS® in other markets. Through RPR View, MLS subscribers can access a much larger footprint of property data including public records and listing data like sales, valuations, transaction histories, assessments, foreclosures, mortgage info and historical data and more.

Today, 380 MLSs representing over 866,149 REALTORS® share on-market listings with another MLS through RPR, and 355 MLSs share off-market listings with another MLS. The feature has helped save thousands of dollars for MLSs that often pay vendors for such functionality.

On the MLS side, RPR View is completely adaptable––allowing each MLS to decide who can view its listings, and what they see. Each MLS can share nothing, everything, or something in between.

To empower its members, RPR has created a “new view for RPR View,” a fully transparent display of every MLS that has agreed to share its data across an agent’s home state and even across the nation, including which types of data are being shared: on market, off market, additional info and covered counties.

For RPR users, a link is available on the RPR Settings and Profile page. Filter to find the MLSs that share or don’t share data with yours. Then use the column headings to sort by state and types of data shared: on market, off market, additional information (such as agent remarks), and the counties the MLS covers. To view counties, roll your mouse over the number.

More on what an MLS might want to know about RPR View.

There are no fees. RPR View, like all RPR tools, is included as a member benefit of the National Association of REALTORS®. You will never see an extra fee or cost for anything affiliated with RPR or RPR View.

Different levels of sharing. As the MLS, you have absolute control over who sees your listings. Share as little or as much as you’d like, or share nothing at all. Some MLSs share market listings with all REALTORS®.

Permissions. MLS partners are required to acknowledge permission-to-share listing data within the RPR platform using RPR View. To learn more about RPR View, please contact your RPR Industry Relations Team.
